LOCATION & VENUE: Al Ain, Amblers Rugby Club

TIMING: Makietie kicks off 6pm – 2am.

ARTISTS: Fokofpolisiekar, Aston Wylie, Majozi, Ryno Velvet

AGE RESTRICTION:

Family-friendly, FINALLY! All ages are welcome. Persons under 21 are to be accompanied by an adult. Different wristbands will be given to different ages. Over 21s have to have ID or Passports (official documentation). Dis nie Hatfield nie!

VENUE:

As Summer creeps closer, with recent years throwing random weather patterns at us, we decided this is not going to stop us and to host our event in AL Ain where we can have large AC Coolers, Inflatable Slides, and Pool to beat the heat. Al Ain is far from the ocean with very low humidity and as it’s an evening event, the Sun will have Load-shedding!

The challenge was finding a large enough Venue that has the correct licensing to host large Music Events AND welcome children, AND have enough space for kids and adults play area, AND able to host a craft market, AND have Braai facilities, AND support with friendly pricing so we don‘t regret our lives the next day, AND have enough space to facilitate up to 1000 of us running around in shorts and flops without judgment!

SO, we finally found the Amblers Rugby Club who was happy to assist and tick all these boxes for us to make it happen!

There are only 10 VIP booths and tables available that can accommodate between 6-10 people per table. Elevated and overlooking the stage. Packages include Bottles of Sprits and buckets of Heineken and Savanna

DANCING:

Yeah, we love a Sokkie! Plenty of space to bob and jive. For the older crowd, plenty places to blom and watch from a distance.

KIDS & ADULT ACTIVITIES:

As a family-friendly festival, we need to ensure the kiddos have just as much fun. A dedicated kids’ play area and activities for all ages will ensure everyone enjoys their day. Adults, we have not forgotten about you. Adult “play” areas will also be available if you want to take a breather from the SAFFA tunes. Plenty of space to relax and watch the live feed on the big screens.

WHAT TO EXPECT

STAY THE NIGHT:

We have arranged special discounted staycation packages at the Aloft Hotel for the travelers to stay over and enjoy a day at the pool and of course, the breakfast spread the next morning. Spa discounts for the ladies are also available if you want to add another day or 2 to your visit.

CRAFT MARKET:

A Saffa gathering needs a Craft Market (Flooi mark) and so we’ve teamed up with a group of crafters to add some retail therapy in the mix and showcase their goodies.

LOCKERS:

Obviously, we don’t expect you to walk and jump around all day carrying everything. Lockers will be available to rent at 50AED for the day to store your goodies, so bring enough moola for shopping.

GETTING THERE:

A 7-seater taxi from anywhere in Dubai will cost you 50AED – 90AED. This includes Dubai South, Mirdif, Ghadeer, Jebel Ali, even the okes there doer ver in Delmas (Damac2) So grab a tjommie or 3 and split a cab. Otherwise, the Metro is right across the road.

Free Valet for those who are driving. If you are drinking alcohol please use Safe Driver and Zofeur to drive you back home.

AFTER PARTY:

Had an epic day, but still feel like a jol? You know who you are! We will also have an afterparty ready for you till the early morning hours.

THE FURRY FAMILY MEMBERS:

We demonstrate our commitment to animal welfare through a unique initiative. For each ticket sold, 10 AED goes towards purchasing pet food, delivered by the team to different animal shelters each Monday after the events.

Children under 12 typically enter for free, but for these events, a 10 AED “kids ticket” contributes directly to the pet food fund.
